Two years ago, my great grandma passed away. I saw her for the last time in her home a year before her death and I tried to incapsulate every moment spent with her. I tried to remember every little detail of that trip so I could keep her in my memory in case I wouldn't see her again. I would study her quiet voice, how she always wanted to hold my hand, her contagious smile, and her glance at me every so often because she thought I was so beautiful. When it was time to leave, I made sure I hugged her tight and told her I loved her because I was unsure if I would see her again. I wasn't able to see her after that because the trip was so long, but I don't regret the last moments I spent with her. I wish I could've seen her one last time, but I know she's in a better place.
Us humans have to adapt to a new life after tragedy hits and this quarantine has shown us that we can't take advantage of this life. Our life is so precious and we have to cherish every moment spent with family and friends because who knows what will happen? I don't mean that now we should worry every moment about our loved ones, but take the time to be thankful for who you have in your life and make sure they know it too. This past few months have been a challenge for eveyone in the world, but we've learned how fast things can change and we are starting to realize that we shouldn't take the moments we share with family and friends for granted.
